Samara Beach

Samara Beach

This is my type of town, some places I visit I just get this feeling when I first get there that calms all the silly worries we all carry around with us. Samara has that, a tiny little town, no more than a couple streets and a beautiful beach. A beach that makes you want to get up at 5am and walk it as the sun rises. Sleeping in little cabins lining the beach at a place called Los Olas, little geckos snapping up the bugs, hum of Bob Marley songs, the sound of the ocean as you drift off into sleep, the call of the howler monkeys in the morning, it’s been a relaxing two days. I’m reluctant to leave and head to Tamarindo, where I know the busy beaches and stores will interrupt the stillness. That’s the thing about travel, sometimes you find a spot that has your heart, only to leave it, trying to keep the memory in your mind. It’s definitely my favourite place so far in Costa Rica and I’m sure it will be a hard one to beat. Wild horses frequent this beach, I’ve yet to see them but still have a chance before I leave. Wish me luck. Off to join a 4pm Yoga Class on the beach with Body Mind and Soul.
